The Art of Joel Robinson
Joel Robinson is an American horror artist specializing in character portraits. Being a classically trained artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Joel uses traditional techniques and current technology to bring a new take on horror to his audience. He is best known for using vibrant colors to illuminate the darkest of subject matters. Joel’s clientele includes such horror greats as Clive Barker, George A. Romero, Malcolm McDowell, Michael Rooker, Dee Wallace, Danielle Harris, and Kane Hodder among others.
He grew up on horror, loving Famous Monsters of Filmland and the great VHS slasher hits from the 80s. Bringing together his lifelong love for horror and his passion for art, Joel is now a frequent guest at Horror Conventions across the United States. He also works regularly as a staff artist for HorrorHound Magazine and made his HorrorHound cover debuts for the Special March and May/June Issue #29 in 2011.
In 2013 Joel made his debut at Shout! Factory. Joel’s Vincent Price artwork can be seen on the blu-ray release of The Vincent Price Collection. Joel has since completed 4 more Special Edition Covers for such movies as: Clive Barker’s NightBreed and Lord of Illusions, Ginger Snaps and The Vincent Price Collection II.
Nine gorgeously detailed movie posters by artist “Ghoulish” Gary Pullin.
A horror fan since he could slide a tape into a VCR, “Ghoulish” Gary Pullin has grown into a monster-making machine. As Rue Morgue magazine’s original art director, the London, Ontario-born artist created the famous look of the publication, which currently hosts his art column, The Fright Gallery. Now a full time creature creator, his colourful signature style has graced numerous magazines, books and movie posters. He’s had his work featured in galleries across North America, created highly sought-after screen-prints for the likes of Mondo and Skuzzles and created key art for various films, including “Grabbers” and “Birth of the Living Dead”. Both Gary and his art will be seen in the upcoming documentaries “Twenty-Four by Thirty-Six” and “Why Horror”?
Minghao Dong | on Tumblr (b.1983, China/France)
Minghao Dong was born in Inner Mongolia, China. Graduated from University of Dalian in 2008, Minghao works predominantly in the medium of painting but also engravings and installations. Gerard Richter has been the greatest influence. This new series of paintings is a reflection of the artist pondering on the properties of human, life and death in a time characterized by impatience, fragments, nihility, and a duality of highly developed civilization and disorder. Minghao Dong has had solo exhibitions in Dalian at Tianyi Gallery, and has participated several group exhibitions in China. He lives and works in Paris since 2009.

The following pieces of morbid art are by Nicola Samori, a 35 year old Italian artist. He says “My work stems from fear: fear of the body, of death, of men. I think my nature as an artist is something like feeling hopeless. Works are just temporary shelters and painting is a leisure place where you can conceal yourself.”
